Allison Hennigan, MD, is a board-certified neurologist at UT Health East Texas Neurological Institute in Tyler. Dr. Hennigan has always been interested in learning about why people make the decisions or take the actions they do, which led to her specialty in neurology and learning more about the human brain.
“I got into healthcare to help people and alleviate suffering. I think that I have an excellent skill for listening and empathy, where I can put myself into the patient’s position. This helps me work together with them to find the best solution that helps each patient where they are.”
When not seeing patients, Dr. Hennigan enjoys reading books, watching movies and playing role-playing games with her family. She also loves spending as much time outside as possible and treating her family to homemade ice cream.
Dr. Hennigan is employed as a clinical faculty physician at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler under the UT Tyler School of Medicine.

EXCELLENT doctor! She listens intently during the visit, clearly explains her instructions, and then follows up with an after visit summary on your mychart page. When I read the first summary she wrote, I was astounded at how completely she documented ALL of my thoughts and complaints.
I went to her after six months of excruciating migraines, and the treatment plan she put me on almost completely eliminated them as soon as I began the plan. I highly recommend her.
She and her nursing and office staff also respond promptly to questions through the online chart system.

Dr. Hennigan is the best neurologist that I've ever met. She is very helpful and give a lot informational pep talks. Regarding your medical situation especially that will help you.
