“I chose to pursue a career in cancer medicine, because I found I had an interest in the biology of the disease. I was also excited by the many new treatments and constant new discoveries. But the real crux of it for me is compassion. I care about people. This is also why I take a straightforward, direct and compassionate approach to my patients… and an aggressive approach to their cancer. When possible, cure is the goal. If that’s not possible, I try to maximize quality and quantity of life. And I always take privacy and individual lifestyle into account. I also take the time to get to know each person, their goals and their priorities. Then I bring my knowledge and expertise to helping them achieve those goals.”
