Muhammad Arslan Baig, MD, is a board-certified interventional/advanced gastroenterologist at the UT Health East Texas Digestive Disease Center in Tyler. His mission is to provide safe, compassionate and personalized care to all of his patients. Dr. Baig got into healthcare to make a difference in the lives of others. “I want to make quality healthcare more accessible for those who truly need it,” he said.
Dr. Baig sees patients 18 years and older and specializes in pancreaticobiliary disorders, endoscopic management of reflux and obesity, pre-cancerous and cancerous lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, endo-hepatology and third space endoscopy. “I am certain that interventional gastroenterology will continue to evolve as a nexus between gastroenterology, surgery and oncology with endless possibilities in coming decades,” he said. “There are numerous diseases that 10 years ago absolutely required more invasive interventions, but can now be managed endoscopically, and I am a proud member of this rapidly evolving specialty.”
In his spare time, Dr. Baig enjoys cooking and travelling with his family. In addition to English, Dr. Baig is fluent in Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi.
Dr. Baig is employed as a clinical faculty physician at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler under the UT Tyler School of Medicine.
