Shayna Burdeaux, DO, is an obstetrician and gynecologist at UT Health East Texas Physicians in Tyler.
She believes excellent healthcare is built on a foundation of trust and respect between the patient and the physician. “I aim to earn trust and respect at each and every patient encounter,” she said. “Every person deserves quality care, and the right treatment considers each person as an individual with their own set of values and diverse background and inherently honors their specific needs. My goal is to equip women with knowledge and tools to help them advocate for the healthiest version of themselves.”
Dr. Burdeaux said it has been her dream to become a doctor since she was a little girl, and that she knew healthcare was her calling after participating in a medical mission trip. As for her specialty, she said, “My specialty chose me! I found myself falling in love with all aspects of women’s care while in medical school.” In addition to her specialization in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Burdeaux completed a four-year surgical program, which allows her to offer comprehensive women’s care with no age limitations.
When not treating patients, Dr. Burdeaux enjoys spending time with her husband, their two children and their dog.
Dr. Burdeaux is employed as a clinical faculty physician at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler under the UT Tyler School of Medicine.
