Paul Critelli, MD is a plastic surgeon who performs both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures of the face, body and hands.  Dr. Critelli completed eight years of surgical residency training and spent two years in private practice in Dallas before joining UT Health East Texas in Tyler in 2018, with his wife and two girls.

Serving the greater East Texas area, he is dedicated to deeply understanding and attaining the individual goals and concerns of his patients.  He believes communication is the key to a good doctor-patient relationship and encourages his patient’s to participate in their care.  “I enjoy cases that make an impact in the quality of my patient’s lives.  Whether it be returning a patient’s image after breast cancer or building a patient’s self-confidence with body contouring.”

He is interested in helping patients achieve their desired form, function and aesthetics.  “When most surgeons operate, they remove a diseased process, like cancer.  Plastic surgeons have the unique job of putting the puzzle back together as in facial and hand trauma, or they create and sculpt the body using tissue or implants, as is the case with breast reconstruction and body contouring.”

Dr. Critelli earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in College Station, his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.  He completed his general surgery residency at Methodist Health System in Dallas and his Plastic Surgery Residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

In his free time Dr. Critelli enjoys spending time with family and watching his two, beautiful girls grow up.

Dr. Critelli is employed as a clinical faculty physician at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler under the UT Tyler School of Medicine.

I’m 2 weeks post operation for my breast reduction and lift! I’m so pleased with results! Dr. Critelli has done a wonderful job! Even with the mild swelling they look great so I no they will be perfect! He is definitely a protectionist and it really shows through his work! He was so kind and calmed my nerves before my surgery! I would definitely let him operate on me again if I ever need anything done. He has wonderful bedside manners and really cares about his patients being happy! I also would like to thank Kourtney his nurse she has been so helpful and is quick to get back to me with any questions I may have. Thank you for everything Dr. Critelli you’re awesome!

Dr. Critelli did my mastectomy and start of reconstruction with Dr. Meritt. Both have been great and the nurses have been amazing. During one of my expander fills he even talked to my daughters. His nurses have been amazing and so sweet. I still have a final surgery but so far I couldn't ask for better.

I had a consultation for breast reduction. The staff was very professional and helpful. They answered all my questions I had about the procedure. I highly recommend them if you are thinking about future surgeries. I will book for future surgeries.

Had a consultation with Dr Critelli regarding an atypical procedure. Was concerned due to the negative reviews, but had a very good experience. Special shoutout to the nurse on duty, very kind and professional. Hopefully the procedure will be just as good.
